Perk up: It’s coffee and cake time in Redditch

THE countdown has begun for this year’s Macmillan coffee morning fundraisers.

Caring folk from across the region are full of beans as they gear up for the event, which will be held on Friday, September 29.

Staff at Redditch estate agents Andrew Grant are busy baking and making ready for the big day. The team of property experts will be inviting landlords, clients and members of the public to join them for a slice of cake to raise money for the cancer-care charity.

Cakes and treats – both homemade and shop-bought – will be on offer at the Church Green East branch from 10am to 1pm.

Meanwhile, staff at the Bridge charity shop are going all out for cancer support with a pound for pound coffee and cake morning.

Running from 10am to 12.30pm, there will not only be tea, coffee and cake on the menu, but lots of bric-a-brac and clothes to browse as well.

Every penny made from these sales will be matched by the charity shop and the total donated to Macmillan Cancer Care.

It’s all happening in the newly-refurbished church hall on Evesham Road, Headless Cross.

There will also be cakes galore at Great Alne village hall on Saturday, September 30, as locals support Macmillan.

The event, which is part of the world’s biggest coffee morning, will run from 10.30am to noon where there will be lots of treats to try in exchange for charity donations.
