No money for Studley square deal says County and District chiefs

Redditch Editorial 22nd Sep, 2018   0

HOPES of creating a village square in Studley have run into problems just weeks after first being put forward.

The idea had been the brainchild of District Councillor Justin Kerridge (Con, Studley & Mappleborough Green) however a sub-committee set up by Studley Parish Council has found hoped-for finance from Warwickshire County Council and Stratford District Council will not be forthcoming.

“There was no willingness to invest money in the scheme and without their investment, for this project to be viable we would have to put in a considerable amount of time and money,” Coun Paul Beaman told Tuesday’s parish council meeting.

It was agreed to ask residents if they were in favour of the scheme by adding it to the village’s Neighbourhood Plan questionnaire which is due to go out to village homes in mid-October.
