SOCIAL distancing signs and directions depicting safer routes will be put up around Redditch ahead of non-essential shops opening on Monday.
Redditch Borough Council has held risk assessments and communicated with traders in a bid to keep shoppers and traders as safe as possible.
Visitors to the town are being urged to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and to wash or sanitise their hands as often as possible.
Council leader Matt Dormer said: “This is great news for our traders and small businesses.
“I have always been an advocate of shopping local and our independent shops now need our support more than ever.
“While we have put signs in place and carried out risk assessments, the onus is on people to ensure the 2m distance is kept, and that personal hygiene is maintained.
“So please bear this in mind and keep each other safe.”
