Neighbours: Residents group born of Covid pandemic takes shape

Redditch Editorial 13th Jul, 2021   0

A NEW residents association has been set up in Headless Cross.

And they’ve got big plans for the Queens Platinum Jubilee and hoping to have a Great British street party.

Local Councillor Aled Evans, who set up the initiative said: “The association was born out of the pandemic.

“Some residents got together to arrange a VE day celebration in 2020 where the whole street came out to have a socially distanced event.

The Covid-p9 Pandemic has brought a really strong sense of community to the street, said Coun Evans, and there are plans for multiple events held on a regular basis.

“There was a lot of community spirit and from this event there’s been a lot more going on, so much so that the association was born,” he said.
