A COLLECTIVE of the nation’s up and coming musical talent are seeking to inspire Redditch youngsters.

Students at Trinity High School were visited by The Power of Muzik – a programme created to educate young people on mental health and the dangers of bullying through music education.

Cece Sammy, a celebrity vocal coach and mentor to rising stars on The X Factor, set up the programme last year.

She said: “It uses music therapy techniques to spread positive advice to young people going through personal challenges.”

Leading the show was Asher Knight, an original member of the Power of Muzik, who experienced physical and emotional bullying as a teenager.

X Factor contestant Luena Martinez joined Asher to put on a wide range of exercises at the school, all designed to assist young people in tackling modern day pressures.

“The Power of Muzik, including Asher and Luena, is made up of brave young people and I’m extremely proud to have them by my side.

“You could really tell the students at Trinity High School walked away from the concert with a more positive and optimistic outlook after discussing a range of topics.”
