REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean paid a visit to Ipsley CE RSA Academy last week as part of her promise to visit all local schools.

Before a tour of the school with the Principal, the MP was grilled by senior student leaders on a variety of issues, including Brexit and cuts to services at The Alexandra Hospital.

In return the MP commended the school for its “focus on the values of raising aspirations, caring, and encouraging pupils to connect with the world of work”.

Following the visit, Ms Maclean mentioned Ipsley in Parliament, praising how the school is raising aspirations by encouraging links with local businesses.

Ipsley Principal, Nicola Beech, said she was proud to have the school discussed in Westminster: “‘As an RSA Academy, we are committed to fully preparing pupils for the world beyond school.

“This includes visiting workplaces and developing the key attributes needed for a successful future.”

The school has also been involved in the pilot of the RSA Opening Doors to Business project, which seeks to make links between Redditch businesses and local schools.
