MP FOR Redditch, Rachel Maclean has said she will “leave no stone unturned” in finding a solution to the challenges facing local bus services.

Last Friday (June 24th), Mrs Maclean once again met with Coun Mike Rouse, cabinet member for highways and transport at Worcestershire County Council, to discuss local bus services.

They are both working closely together to safeguard services in Redditch and to find a solution to the challenges bus operators are facing.

At the meeting, Mrs Maclean and Coun Rouse discussed the new Bus Travel Task Force for Worcestershire, the new Enhanced Partnership the County Council is entering into with local bus operators and how Demand Responsive Transport can be used as a way to secure the future of bus travel in Redditch and Worcestershire.

She has previously met with representatives from Diamond Bus and has also written to the Bus Minister in support of measures to help local bus services.

Mrs Maclean said: “Although I do not have the power to direct local bus services, I’m using every tool at my disposal to work with partners to find a solution to the challenges facing our bus services.

“Working with the County Council, we will leave no stone unturned in our mission to safeguard services here in Redditch.”

Coun Mike Rouse added: “I am committed to working with all elected officials across Worcestershire and on a cross-party basis.

“The public expects us all to work together to find solutions so we can review, enhance and secure our local bus services. I’m grateful to Rachel for her steadfast support on behalf of her residents.”
