MP backs campaign to find the local Covid-19 heroes of Redditch

NOMINATE your Redditch Hero!

As the coronavirus pandemic goes on, with unrelentingly glum national headlines and heartbreaking daily death tolls, some people are still managing to shine a light in the gloom and brighten things up.

And right here in Redditch we want to celebrate our very own heroes in the pages of the Standard.

Already from just one Facebook posting we have received more than 100 nominations.

Redditch MP Rachel Maclean also spotted the post and has hinted at a celebration of some sort for all our local heroes once things return to normal.

“I’m really excited to be teaming up with the Redditch Standard to find our town’s local heroes,” she said.

“There are many people quietly going about raising money for charity, shopping for their neighbours, volunteering for charities and community groups – the list is endless.

“We want to recognise these heroes and to shine a light on how our communities are coming together during this crisis. If you know a hero then we need to hear from you. To everyone playing their part in this national effort to tackle coronavirus – thank you.”

If you know someone doing amazing things for the community right now please nominate them at [email protected] with their name, area, a brief description of what they’re doing and any photos you may have (cape wearing is optional).
