SUPERMARKET giant Morrisons has saluted Redditch shoppers after they raised a magnificent £1,500 on World Cancer Day. February 4.
The store’s community champion said customers have excelled themselves in what, given the coronavirus pandemic, were difficult circumstances.
“Our customers have once again been absolutely fantastic and so supportive – we have such a strong community here in Redditch and we have loved it.”
She added that the money will all go to Morrisons’ charity partner, Clic Sargent Young Lives vs Cancer, as part of a nationwide drive to raise £17million for the good cause.
“This is our last year with Clic Sargeant and across the UK we really want to hit that £17m target which will go towards providing accommodation for parents while their children receive cancer treatment.”
Morrisons’ final fundraising drive for the charity will be in-store this coming Easter.
