A REDDITCH football team will be hosting their annual charity match in memory of a former keen footballer to raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The match featuring VKL United FC v Astwood FC on January 20 is being held in honour of former player Vinay Kishor Ladwa who died in September 2013, and all money raised will be donated to the children’s hospital where Vinay spent much of his life.
Guests are invited to Trico Stadium from 6.30pm on January 20, to help mark what would have been Vinay’s 29th birthday year.
As well as the game, there will be a charity raffle and food and drink on offer.
Last year, the event raised £1,453.16 for the QE – the most it has ever raised – and organisers are hoping better it again this time around.
