A FAMILY in Earslwood were subject to a terrifying attack after thieves smashed their way into their house to steal their car.
The incident happened at just gone midnight on Friday, August 25, at a property in Malthouse Lane.
The occupants heard a smash and found a rock had been thrown through their window.
At this point six or seven masked thugs tried to force their way into the house through the window and by smashing down the front door.
The occupant tried to keep them out, suffering two cuts to his head as they forced him back.
Once inside the thugs then demanded the keys to the car parked outside, but without success.
Finally they left, driving away from the scene.
The occupant was later treated for cuts by the ambulance service.
The incident follows a similar one on August 15, when thugs hunting car keys threw a brick through the glass door of the outbuilding of a house in Coughton before barging their way into the property.
They threatened the householder, a woman, with a kitchen knife and a piece of wood before searching the house for the keys, again without success.
They eventually left, stealing her purse, credit cards and cash.
