Local heroes Eddy and Lacey bitten by the litter picking bug

Redditch Editorial 26th Feb, 2022   0

TWO Redditch youngsters are regularly rolling up their sleeves and doing their bit to protect the local environment.

Eddy and Lacey Jackson, aged four and nine, are an eagle-eyed duo when it comes to picking up litter.

Proud grandmother Sarah Moore pops over from Worcester on Tuesdays to their home in Winyates to look after Eddy while mum Kelly is at work and Lacey is at school.

“He is mad about litter picking – they both are,” said Sarah.

“He is fascinated by the bin men and when his sister got a litter pick my next door neighbour bought him one for Christmas and he loves it!

“We get bags of it when we go for a walk around the park, Eddy says ‘naughty people’ when he picks something up.

“I’m just so pleased they’re doing something for the environment and the comments they get are really appreciative and I felt they deserved some recognition for all they do.

“I am a proud nanny because they are doing something to save the planet.”
