VISITORS to Stratford-upon-Avon can’t help but notice the ‘living statues’ that populate the town, particularly Henley Street.
Now, as part of William Shakespeare’s birthday celebrations this coming weekend, the town is to host the UK’s first National Living Statue Championship.
The event has already attracted world and national champions from other countries and both professional and child artists will compete for a cash prize with performances throughout the weekend and winners announced on Sunday afternoon, April 22, at 4pm.
It’s all happening in Bancroft gardens outside the theatre where there will also be music, entertainment, a parade and much more.
