Children urged to join ‘Silly Squad’ and Summer Reading Challenge

Redditch Editorial 14th Jun, 2020   0

REDDITCH Library is calling all children aged from four to 11 to join the ‘Silly Squad’ and take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.

The Silly Squad website (sillysquad.org.uk) is available to access until September and features games, quizzes and digital and downloadable activities to encourage children and their families to join the reading challenge at home.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a popular annual children’s event delivered by public libraries across the UK.

This year’s Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge is available online following widespread library closures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Junior library members can use books they already have at home or access a wide range of ebooks from the Worcestershire County Council digital library using the Borrowbox app.

The Digital library even has a Silly Squad collection to get you started with the challenge.

Children can join The Silly Squad online from this moment – simply visit sillysquad.org.uk to register.
