Let there be light! Switch on in Matchborough Centre

Redditch Editorial 5th Dec, 2020   0

THERE may be no traditional carol concert or Christmas lunch for senior citizens in Matchborough this year, but last week the festive lights were officially switched on in the district centre.

Local County Councillor Tom Baker-Price used some of his divisional funds to pay for the tree and he was joined by fellow County and Borough Coun Juliet Brunner for the event.

“It’s going to be a different kind of Christmas this year but we can all look forward to 2021 being a better year,” said Coun Brunner.

“I’m really saddened that we cannot have our Christmas carol concert with the children of Matchborough First School and Noah’s Ark at Christ Church or my Christmas lunch for senior citizens.

“However I’d like to thank Coun Baker-Price for his contribution and I am sure we can all do the best we can at the end of what has been a difficult year.”
