COMMUNITY groups in Redditch can bid for grants of up to £500 for the third and final time this year.
Voluntary and community groups in Redditch are invited to bid for this year’s last round of Stronger Community grants from Redditch Borough Council which will be open from Monday (August 24)
‘Stronger Communities’ grants of up to £500 support local community-focused projects, with the previous round funding projects including a Summer Playscheme for Batchley, a Community Crafts programme for older people, representation at the Special Olympics National Summer Games 2017, trips to the seaside and Warwick Castle amongst several other activities.
Coun Bill Hartnett, Leader of the Council, said: “Our town has a really strong sense of community and this is in no small part due to the work carried out by organisations and voluntary groups who dedicate their time and skills.
“We remain committed to supporting these projects across the borough so if you are a voluntary or community group and you are thinking about doing some kind of one-off community-focused project, I would encourage you to get in touch with our team. They can provide help and guidance on applying for a Stronger Communities grant.”
Stronger Communities grants are made available to groups, which do not necessarily have to be formally constituted to apply, in three rounds every year as part of the borough council’s wider annual grants programme.
Applications can be made until 4pm on September 22.
To apply, download an application form by looking at the voluntary and community sector funding pages at www.redditchbc.gov.uk/grants or contact the Grants team at [email protected].
