Kick-start a healthy 2018 and sign up for Stroke Association Resolution Run

Redditch Editorial 8th Jan, 2018   0

PEOPLE in Redditch aiming to get fit for 2018 are being urged to sign up for a Stroke Association Resolution Run.

The charity is hosting a run at Arrow Valley Country Park on February 25 and British athlete Jo Pavey MBE is calling on everyone in Redditch to do their bit.

The 43-year-old long-distance runner has teamed up with the charity to encourage people to take part in a 5k, 10k or 15k Resolution Run, where participants can run, jog or walk their way to the finish line.

She said: “You don’t have to be a medal-winning athlete to take on a Resolution Run for the Stroke Association. These events are ideal for people who are putting on their trainers for their first charity run, through to more experienced runners. The added bonus is that the funds you raise will help even more people recover from a devastating stroke.

“The Stroke Association offers support every step of the way to help you reach your New Year goals – so make a resolution that counts this year and sign up today.”

The events are open to all ages, and more than 30 runs will be held all across the UK with runners able to choose their distance.

The money raised through the Resolution Run in Redditch will help the Stroke Association fund research and support people affected by stroke in the Midlands.

Entry fee is £16 and all runners receive a technical running t-shirt and medal. For more information a visit http://www.stroke.org.uk/resolution
