THERE’S just one week to go before the start of the Redditch Standard Baby of the Year 2018 competition – and it’s promising to be bigger and better than ever before.
Complete with a new format we’re hoping that once again hundreds of bonnie babies will have their photographs taken and entered into our competition – and it’s all absolutely free of charge.
We’re also delighted this year to welcome a representative from the Kingfisher Shopping Centre to join our panel of independent judges.
Professional portrait photographer Andrea Powell will be setting up her mobile studio by The Works and Primark in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre from Monday, March 19 to Saturday, March 31 (closed Sundays).
There are two age groups – 0 to 18 months and 19 to three years – and all you have to do is take your baby along between 9.30am and 4.30pm and Andrea will take a selection of professional photographs of your child. No appointment is necessary.
After the pictures are taken you will be asked back a few days later to choose which print to enter in our competition.
Andrea will also be offering a selection of the prints to buy at an extremely competitive price, but you are under no obligation whatsoever to do so. All children photographed will be given a number and then entered into the competition.
Voting will take place via our website at www.redditchstandard.co.uk where you can click and vote for the number of your favourite – please note no child’s name will appear.
The ten babies receiving the most votes will go through to our final, along with ten more babies selected by our independent panel of judges.
First prize in each category will be a large canvas portrait of your child plus a special gift, together worth £200, while second prize will also be a canvas portrait of your child worth £100 plus a special gift.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If voting, only one click will be counted.
Employees of Bullivant Media Ltd and their families are not eligible to enter.
