JOLLY jumpers were donned instead of school uniforms at a Redditch school last week, with children invited to donate food items to Redditch foodbank in keeping with the Christmas spirit.
Pupils and staff at Birchensale Middle School took part in Christmas Jumper Day last Friday with each bringing in an item for the food bank, which helps provide those people struggling financially with healthy and nutritious meals.
Pastor Andrew Diaper of Redditch Baptist Church accepted the gift before bringing the Christmas to life with a humorous telling of the Christmas story, using staff members as the characters.
Teacher Sarah Homewood, who organised the event, said: “Birchensale pupils are always so generous and every year I am amazed by just how much food is collected for this worthwhile cause.”
