JESTAMINUTE Community Theatre CIC is appealing for votes after been nominated for a highly coveted ‘People’s Choice’ award.
The Redditch community interest company was recently shortlisted following its work on pantomime ‘The Needlewitch is Coming’ with Reach CIC.
The panto, performed at Ipsley CE RSA Academy, was a twist on children’s classics along with stories on Redditch’s history of needle-making.
Jestaminute members, of all ages, developed the script, designed the costumes and worked together on staging and production management.
Stewart Sanderson, arts development officer at Redditch Borough Council, said: “We’re delighted by the good news that Jestaminute have been shortlisted for an Epic Award, run by Voluntary Arts.
“Working closely with the company, we know how important it is to communities here. It’s great to see their commitment to the voluntary and community arts sectors recognised in this way.”
The winner of the award is determined by members of the public who vote for the group or project they feel most deserving of recognition.
Voting for this year’s People’s Choice Award closes this Sunday, September 20.
