It's fun: Redditch women urged to take part in county triathlon event

A NEW ladies only triathlon is to be launched in Worcestershire.

Backed by Tri Energy, the event, in May this year, will be known as the Clock Tower Triathlon after the Abberley clock tower in the county.

The event starts with a 400m pool swim, a rolling and challenging 21km bike course and a 5km off road run around the school grounds.

The event is aimed at women of all abilities to have a go but is specifically trying to encourage more women into the world of triathlon.

However for those not yet ready to take the plunge there is an option to be part of a relay team.

If you have a friend who is great on a bike but not a keen swimmer then join up and build a team.

“It’s a great way to get fit, have a giggle and make some new friends along the way,” said Tri Energy spokesperson Sam Anderson.
