IT could be as simple as picking up a prescription or doing somebody’s shopping, but county chiefs say the public response to their Here 2 Help campaign has been fantastic.
The adult social services team has been bolstered by support from outside services while volunteers, some without any previous care experience, have backed up frontline care staff.
Other examples include people, schools and groups making vital pieces of Personal Protective Equipment, local businesses supplying food vouchers for our care home staff and people offering to collect food for local food banks.
Worcestershire County Councillor Adrian Hardman, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Adult Social Care, said: “Our care staff are doing a fantastic job in what are very tough circumstances.
“The support they’re getting from members of the public and a range of local companies is great to see and every offer of help, no matter how small, really does make a difference.
“This pandemic has brought the best out in many people and I’d like to say thank you to those who are providing support to our staff and helping those in need at this time.”And with the pandemic far from over, the county is still looking to fill relief positions within a range of social care settings across the county.
