THE ladies of the Inner Wheel Club of Redditch have remained undaunted by the Covid-19 pandemic and have stayed connected thanks to the power of Zoom.
The result has been many fruitful suggestions and ideas on how they can continue to support the local community.
The ladies have also appointed two new presidents in Rosie Harvey and Phil Reed who have been holding properly socially distanced meetings in their gardens for a few ladies at a time to share tea and cake and distribute quiz sheets as a fund raising venture.
One of the ladies Helen Rimmer, is also undertaking a sponsored run, running in the park with her dog to make up the miles to a marathon.
She is raising money for Inner Wheel’s international charity, Planting for Hope Uganda.
Members have also been busy knitting knee blankets, pompoms, twiddle muffs for dementia sufferers at Brambles Care Home at Webheath and have again collected a mountain of food, sanitary ware and toiletries for St Basil’s Homes and The Trussell Trust.
The autumn meetings are set to resume with a speaker appearing via Zoom.
