Inkberrow FC Girls helped roar Lionesses onto history-making victory

Redditch Editorial 2nd Aug, 2022   0

GIRLS from Inkberrow FC were among the record 87,192 crowd at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, roaring on the Lionesses to their history-making 2-1 victory.

For some of them, the Women’s 2022 Euros final was their first experience of visiting the iconic home of football and they have taken some great memories home with them.

As a club with strong female participation Inkberrow FC is hoping that England’s success will finally give the game the respect it deserves with more girls getting involved in playing the game.

Inkberrow has been involved with the ‘let girls play’ schools programme in helping to give an introduction to football to those who may not have had the opportunity to get involved.

Their successful FA accredited Wildcats centre was recently visited by local WSL and England U19 player Missie Goodwin who had a great time with some of the girls and was very impressed how much they were all enjoying themselves.

The club believes football is about fun and is for all.
