Inkberrow bowled over as housing money pays for new changing rooms

INKBERROW bowlers are celebrating an £18,000 expansion at their Sands Road headquarters.

Additional changing rooms have been opened which give the lawn bowls club separate facilities for home and away teams.

The new building was funded by a grant from Wychavon District Council.

Club president David Willis said: “This is a significant boost to our facilities which already include a well-equipped sports pavilion with its own bar and kitchen.”

The grant was from money for community projects paid to the council by the developer of 100 new homes in Inkberrow.

Other money from the same fund is being granted to the village football, cricket and tennis clubs.

Inkberrow Bowls Club runs mixed teams in two evening leagues and also plays 30 friendly matches each summer.

The bowling green opened for the season last Sunday, April 14.

“New members are always welcome and we give coaching to newcomers,” said Dave.

Those interested in joining can call him on 01386 792822.
