LEARNINGONLINE, the borough council’s adult learning centre, has been accredited to the matrix Standard – an international mark of quality for information, advice and guidance.
The service received the accolade as a result of demonstrating the high quality Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) it provides for learners looking to improve their skills and qualifications.
Learningonline provides qualifications in maths, English and IT for adults aged 19 and over based at Greenlands Business Centre.
The scheme helps around 120 people a year gain their qualifications – helping many to access higher education, improve job prospects or change careers.
And the team is continuing to take on new students, even during lockdown, thanks to the powers of online learning.
Roger Chapman, head of the matrix service for The Growth Company, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Learningonline and I would like to congratulate the team on their success.”
Alison Osborne, manager at Learningonline, said: “We are really pleased that we have been awarded the Matrix Standard again as recognition for the high standard of service we provide for our learners.”
