Redditch Older People Forum get together to tackle the issues

Redditch Editorial 30th Aug, 2021   0

REDDITCH Older People’s Forum is returning after an 18 month absence due to the pandemic.

Run by volunteers and supported by Redditch Borough Council and Worcestershire County Council its aim is to meet monthly to share information from all agencies backed by regular speakers and the latest updates.

“We take views and concerns directly to the decision makers with representatives on various statutory and consultancy committees,” said the forum’s spokeswoman Pat Witherspoon.

“We listen and share complaints and praises and to do this we need the benefit of Redditch older people’s views.

“We are also very concerned that some clubs and associations have closed during the pandemic increasing loneliness and isolation across our town.

“However we can help ourselves.

“Over 50? come and join us when we restart on September 9 at 10.15am at the Ecumenical Centre in Evesham Walk.

“Talk to us about your concerns for instance. scams, health, finance if we don’t know the answer, we will know a man/woman who does. “Sometimes we have fun!”

Refreshments will be available to purchase at the coffee bar and attendees can buy a raffle ticket or two to support the forum’s expenses.
