Health staff to sleepout to raise awareness of homelessness in county

Redditch Editorial 24th Apr, 2018   0

HEALTH staff from Redditch will be joining colleagues from across the county to give up their beds for a night to help raise awareness and funds for the homeless in Worcestershire.

In total, 20 staff from the three Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Groups, together with staff from Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust will be taking up the challenge on Thursday, April 26.

CEO Sleepout events are taking place across the country to help fight homelessness and this one is taking place at Sixways Stadium. More information is available at www.ceosleepoutuk.com/

Dr Carl Ellson, Strategic Clinical Lead for the three Worcestershire CCG, is taking part and said, “It’s important that we do all we can to raise awareness of homelessness and this event offers an opportunity to do just that.

“It’s also a chance to support and raise vital funds for a number of charities and organisations across the county who offer help to the homeless.

“I’m pleased to see so many colleagues giving up their time and comforts for the night, for this great cause.”
