A FANTASTIC hands-on exhibition is currently running at Forge Mill Needle Museum.
‘Ancient Wisdom’ shows how so much of the knowledge and ideas we use in our modern everyday life was actually discovered or is based on the genius of ancient civilisations.
The exhibition explores many of these ancient principles, from Archimedes’s screw, which transported water up a slope, to building an aqueduct and sending messages with flags.
People will be able to have a go at locking a door with a Roman key, building a Roman arch and making a grindstone work by adding gears.
There will also be a chance to explore music and languages and write your name in hieroglyphics or using a clay tablet.
The exhibition is on until Sunday, April 28 and normal entry fees apply.
