A WOMAN’S handbag was snatched while walking through Woodrow.

The 26-year-old victim was in Pedmore Close about 5.30am when a man ran up behind her and grabbed her bag.

It was a cream leather-effect bag with a branch and owl pattern on it and contained a small amount of cash, as well as food and drink.

The thief is described as white, thought to be aged between 25 and 30, around 6 ft, and is slim with light brown hair which is shaved at the back and sides.

He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the legs and white trainers.

PC Andy Cadwallader, from West Mercia Police, said: “Fortunately the victim was not hurt although she was shocked.

“We would also ask people to contact us if they find the handbag which may have been thrown away by the thief after stealing the contents.”

Anyone with any information should call PC Cadwallader at Redditch Police Station on 101, quoting the incident reference 184-S-060614 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
