Grants of up to £500 available for community and voluntary groups

Redditch Editorial 9th May, 2018   0

VOLUNTARY and community groups are invited to bid for the latest round of grants of up to £500 from Redditch Borough Council.

‘Stronger Communities’ grants support local, community-focused projects and the second round of applications for this year opens on Monday, May 14.

The last round of Stronger Communities grants saw the development of community gardening projects; help for support groups including those focusing on mental health; football and wider sport projects including programmes for children and young people; a safety awareness event and a cultural awareness social evening.

Head of community services Judith Willis said: “If your group or organisation has an idea which will benefit the community, like an event or a project, then get in touch with our team.

“We really value the work our borough’s organisations and voluntary groups carry out to benefit residents so we are delighted to support them through this round of grants.”

Stronger Communities grants are made available to groups, which do not have to be formally constituted to apply, in three rounds every year as part of the borough council’s wider annual grants programme.

Applications can be made until 4pm, Friday, June 15.
