Get set for the return of Our Baby of the Year competition 2022!

Redditch Editorial 12th Mar, 2022   0

THE REDDITCH Standard Baby of the Year competition is back for 2022!

It all gets underway on Monday, March 21 and that launch date is fast approaching.

And after two years of lockdowns it promises to be bigger and better than ever and we’re hoping that once again hundreds of bonnie babies will have their photographs taken and be entered into our competition – and it’s all absolutely free of charge.

Professional portrait photographer Andrea Powell will be setting up her mobile studio by The Works and Primark in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

As usual there are two categories, 0 to 18months and 19 months to three years. Prizes will be awarded for winners and runners up – a 20”x16” canvas print and Jellycat toy for first place and a 12”x10” canvas and Jellycat toy for second.

After the portraits have been taken parents and guardians are given a return date to select their favourite photograph, these will then be numbered and entered into the competition.

Andrea will also be offering a selection of the prints to buy for as little as £12 but you are under no obligation whatsoever to do so.

All our beautiful babies will be then be placed on the Redditch Standard website at www.redditchstandard.co.uk for you to cast your votes – please note no child’s name will appear.

The ten babies with the most votes will go through to the final, plus ten more selected by our panel of judges.

Employees of Bullivant Media Ltd and their families are not eligible to enter.

Andrea’s pop-up studio will be there from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 3pm on Sunday.

Just pop along, no appointment is necessary.
