Get on track for model railway display at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre

REDDITCH Model Railway Club will be once again be staging a pop-up model railway show in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre this weekend August 17-18, 2019.

Preparations are well advanced and club members made a start last Friday preparing the empty shop unit for the model railway event.

This free event will give shoppers and visitors to the Kingfisher Shopping Centre the opportunity to see working layouts close up and at first had and even get to drive a model train.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win a train set.




This taster event is a prelude to the much larger and annual Redditch Model Railway Exhibition over the weekend of September 21-22, 2019.

This much larger event will be held at the Trinity High School and will feature even more working layouts which have been drawn from all over the country together with specialist trade stands.


Once again under 16s will be able to get in free as long as they bring an adult with them.

Guy Craddock from Redditch Model Railway Club said: “It is a great opportunity for visitors to see what railway modelling is all about and we look forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide to both our forthcoming events.”

The Redditch Model Railway Club was formed on Thursday, June 1, 1967, when a group of like minded railway modellers got together.

The club has around 30 members and meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm to 10pm at its own factory unit in Redditch.
