A REDDITCH recruitment company has donated almost £12,000 to a local charity in 2017 through its fundraising efforts.

Staff at Workforce Staffing in Church Green West, have raised £11,500 for Primrose Hospice – a charity chosen by staff to support this year and again for 2018.

The funds have been raised through a variety of events including a charity golf day, a team taking part in the grueling 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, and two team members taking part in the Ride London to Surrey 100 charity cycle.

Workforce has also sponsored a business event and held several dress down days to raise funds.

Chief executive Paul Alekna said: “Primrose Hospice does an amazing job to support people and their families and we know the money we are donating is being put to the best use possible.

“We have had a great time at different events and holding fundraising days throughout this year. The staff have really grasped the importance of supporting such a worthwhile and essential cause.”

Kate Kelly from Primrose Hospice, said: “We are very grateful to Paul and his team for their support this year. Everyone has been so generous with not only donations, but with their spare time too.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Workforce over the next 12 months.”

Primrose Hospice needs £1.75 million every year to keep running its services, but gets less than a fifth of its funding from the NHS.
