ARTS in Redditch have opened their pop-up gallery in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre featuring more than 400 pieces of work by local artists.
A world of art is encapsulated in the gallery, with paintings, photographs, 3-D art, embroidery, knitting, pottery, jewellery and much more.
Local names on show include popular photographer Tony Banks, watercolour expert Helen Rogers, water tower painter Steve Pound and oils and acrylic artist Roger Ricketts.
All the items are sale too, with many at prices that seem almost a steal for an original piece of art made here in Redditch.
Speaking on the opening day, Helen, from Oakenshaw, said: “There’s been a huge amount of interest already from people and we’ve made quite a few sales too.
“As well as that it’s also encouraging people to go back to painting, or knitting or embroidery, as it’s quite therapeutic too.
“Redditch has always been thought of as not a very arty town but there is an awful lot of talent here and people can come along and see what we do by visiting the gallery.”
Visitors are also being encouraged to choose their favourite piece of art with the chance of winning an art set or a £25 Kingfisher shopping voucher.
