Former Redditch vicar and Elvis Presley impersonator set to retire

Redditch Editorial 7th Oct, 2019   0

A FORMER Redditch vicar who has spent the last eight years working as an Elvis Presley impersonator is set to retire.

Andy Kelso will be performing Elvis’ greatest hits during his farewell concert on Friday, November 29 at South Redditch Social Club.

Since leaving his post as the vicar of Christ Church in Matchborough, and swapping his dog collar for a white jump suit, Andy has toured all over the UK.

“Now it’s time to say goodbye,” he said.

“So if you want to be part of a very special evening, then please book your ticket.”

Since his very first show in Redditch, Andy has gone on to perform abroad and at weddings, fetes and Pershore Plum Festival.

In 2014 he visited Belfast dressed as Elvis on a peace mission to bring Catholics and Protestants together.

He walked the whole Peace Line as Elvis, sang songs and invited people to a concert in aid of The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

Tickets for Andy’s final show, which runs from 7pm-10pm, cost £5 and can be purchased by calling Kim on 07803277800 Tadgh on 07976934549.
