Food festival promises something for all tastes with widest ever range

Redditch Editorial 15th May, 2018   0

FOR a great day out the Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festivals is hard to beat.

And it’s back again on Saturday, May 19 from 9am to 5pm with free entry and free park and ride.

Running on a Royal Wedding theme the flags and bunting will be up and visitors can watch the wedding on a big screen in the Baptist Church and in most of the pubs so visitors needn’t miss the big occasion.

More than 100 exhibitors will be offering the very best of cheeses, pies, artisan breads, cakes, fresh and cured meats and sausages, fruit and vegetables, pickles, oils, preserves and more.

Plus there will be kitchen equipment, a pig roast, award-winning street food, handmade chocolates, local beers, ciders, wines and spirits.

Not to be left out, the market town’s individual local shops will also be getting in on the act as will the pubs and cafes.

Newcomers for May include Bewdley Brewery, Bonnie Yau’s oriental sauces and noodles, Café Cannoli Sicilian cannoli, Chiltern Charcuterie, Henry’s Hot Sauce, Gresco Bohdi Japanese street food, Jacky’s Pantry, Queen of Camellias tea, Perfect Tipple, Purbeck Ice Cream and Shakespeare Distillery- artisan gin.

Entirely run by volunteers, the HQ for the event will be at St Nicholas Church in the heart of town.
