Five runners with their own reasons to run London Marathon for Primrose

Redditch Editorial 27th Apr, 2019   0

THERE will be five runners lining up for the Primrose Hospice in Sunday’s Virgin Money London Marathon.

Sam Webster, Kate Low, Sara Phillips, Hayley Young and Bridget Haw have spent months of training and will be hoping their hard work pays off when they pound the 26.2mile course.

Each of the runners were set the challenge of raising £1,800 and all have personal reasons why the charity means so much of them.

Cheering them on will be friends and family as well as a team from Primrose Hospice.

Anna Wilson, the Primrose Hospice’s community fund-raiser, said they loved watching the coverage in a bid to catch a glimpse of the charity’s runners.

“We will be avidly following their progress on the mobile app and we know they will do incredibly well – we are so proud of all of them.

“They have already endured months of gruelling training and have done a fantastic job fundraising for us.”

She added the cash raised would help the charity provide its free care and support for patients.

“We hope all the runners have an incredible day and we’ll be cheering them on from home.”
