HEREFORD AND WORCESTER Fire and Rescue Service will be holding a training exercise on Monday at The Kingfisher Centre, writes Daniel Cooke.
The exercise will take place in car park number four and will take place from 7pm to 9pm in order to avoid any customer disruption.
The training has been arranged following the recent fire at Liverpool Echo Arena which left a multi-storey car park and 1,400 vehicles severely damaged.
Driven by Watch Commander Simon Link from Redditch Fire Station, the exercise has been designed to help the Fire and Rescue service practice their procedures for dealing with a similar incident in any multi-storey car park.
Fiona Faizey, Deputy General Manager at Kingfisher, said: “Safety is of primary importance to us as a centre, so we’re proud to be able to offer the Kingfisher as a location for the Fire Service to carry out this exercise.”
“We’re honoured to work jointly will the Fire and Rescue Service on a regular basis to pre-plan and implement procedures to ensure the safety of our customers and staff on site at all times.”
