Figures show Warwickshire waste is down and recycling rates are up

Redditch Editorial 1st Apr, 2021   0

THE amount of waste produced per household in Warwickshire is down and recycling rates are up according to the latest figures.

Between April and December last year, an additional 3,024 tonnes of recyclable waste was collected from homes in Warwickshire – an increase of seven per cent on the same period the previous year.

This equates to 46,217 tonnes of recyclable materials, thanks to residents, including those in Alcester and Studley, separating even more of their rubbish.

And although the number of households in the county is increasing year on year, the amount of waste per household has dropped from 1,014kg in 2018/19 to 993kg in 2019/20 and is predicted to drop further for 2020/21.
