Family's caravan holiday ruined by thieves

A MAN from Redditch has been left devastated after his caravan was stolen from Bouts Lane in Inkberrow on Saturday morning (July 28).

James Hicks and his family, from Brockhill, were meant to be driving to the Isle of White for a caravan holiday on Monday but after finding the caravan missing from their storage space, will instead spend the week at home.

Mr Hicks said: “I have four children with the youngest being six-years-old.

“After I realised the caravan was missing I became very upset at the thought of having to break the news to my kids.

“My wife suggested I pick up the caravan on Friday but I told her it would be fine to pick up the next day, which makes this even more painful.”

“I believe I was at the site only a few hours after it was stolen.”

Mr Hicks admits in hindsight his wife was correct but that “you shouldn’t have to worry about this sort of thing.”

A spokesperson from West Mercia Police said: “We are investigating the incident that took place but our investigations are ongoing and we would not be looking to comment at this time.”

The missing caravan is a Single Axle Sterling Eccles Sport 586.
