MAKE a date for a May Day picnic at Headless Cross Community Orchard this coming Bank Holiday Monday, May 2 from midday to 4pm.
It’s sure to be a great day out, coming as it does two years since the last event organised by orchard volunteers.
Promised are free games, open-mic music and a choir performing plus who knows what else.
People are encouraged to bring along their own picnics, and perhaps enjoy a cider from the onsite bar with tipples such as ‘MowerMan’ cider, or ‘Headless Corpse’ being served.
Orchard volunteer Alistair Waugh said: “We’re keen to get back to our regular calendar of orchard events.
“Whilst this may not be our biggest event yet, we’re just aiming for a free fun day for all the family.
“There’ll be a cider bar, sack-races, some lively music, and heaps more fun!”
As well as the ‘open mic’, scheduled to perform are ‘Got2Sing’ Redditch Choir, performing a variety of modern songs.
All told the orchard celebrates three events each year; Apple Day, May Fayre and the winter renewal Wassail.
