THE Kingfisher Shopping Centre to host one of the biggest Star Wars collectable conventions in Europe Kingfisher, Redditch is playing host to Echo Base Live, one of the largest and most popular Star Wars collectable conventions in Europe.

The event, which takes place this Saturday, October 20, is the second event hosted this year and is hoping to attract people from all over Europe, beating the thousands fans that attended Episode V.

As well as offering an excellent range of vintage and modern collectable items from art and books to figurines, the event also welcomes many special guests including Bill Hargreaves, the supervising prop maker from The Empire Strikes Back in 1979 who created many memorable characters such as IG-88, B’omarr Monk and EV-9D9.

Chris Bunn, aka ‘The Original Stormtrooper’ will also be in attendance as well as Mike Edmounds, who performed as the Ewok Logray in Return of the Jedi and was the operator of Jabba’s tail.

Domonique Lippett, marketing manager said: “We’re very excited to announce the return of Echo Base Live to Kingfisher.

In April this year we had our most successful event to date and we’re looking to break the record for Episode VI, welcoming fans from far and wide to meet and chat with many special Star Wars guests.”

Echo Base is a free event, running from 10am – 4pm in Kingfisher Shopping Centre, located opposite TK Maxx on Level 1.
