IT WAS that wide eyed and wondering look that did it: After much to-ing and fro-ing we can reveal that the winner of our Baby of the Year competition 2019 in the 0 – 18 months age bracket is Dexter Pakes, aged just six months.
Pretty in pink tot Belle McKay, at just 13 months came a very close second marking the end of the most successful 0-18 months competition to date, surpassing even last year’s record breaker.
Dexter topped both the popular vote and got the thumbs up from the judges too for his beautiful clear look while Belle’s winning smile captivated everyone.
Redditch Standard Editor Ross Crawford, who ensured fair play among the judges, said: “We’ve had a brilliant competition with a fantastic response from our readers.
“I’d like to thank our three judges, especially as we set them such an impossible task, all our entrants and their family and friends, and of course freelance photographer Andrea Powell who took all the pictures.”
First prize is a large canvas portrait of the winning baby plus a special gift, together worth £200, while the runner up will also receive a canvas portrait and a special gift together worth £100.
