Desperate appeal for food vendors for Autumn Celebration

Redditch Editorial 26th Oct, 2021   0

A DESPERATE search for food sellers has been launched by Redditch Borough Council for its Autumn Celebrations initiative at Arrow Valley Country Park.

The five day event started last night (Monday) but now the council has issued an urgent plea for food vendors after being let down by the people they’d lined up.

Speaking on Facebook they said: “We’re sad to say we’ve been let down for our Autumn Celebration event at AVCP,

“If you’re a mobile caterer and want to sell at our event please get in touch!

“We can be very flexible with arrangements and you can choose to have a pitch from 5pm until 8.30pm any or all evenings from tonight (Tuesday) until Saturday, or sell all day and capture visitors attending for the lantern workshops too.”

Anyone who can help the council events team out is urged to call Val Wilson on 07798 800106 or Jackie Boreham on 07711 224300.

‘Autumn Celebrations’ runs until Saturday, October 30, and features a free light trail, music, children’s rides and was also billed to have food stalls every evening from 5pm until 8.30pm for families to enjoy.

On the Friday and Saturday visitors can also join in with a lantern walk around the lake from 6pm plus live music and street theatre entertainment.

The Autumn Celebrations event replaces the council’s fireworks display in the park.
