Covid-19: Visits to Community hospitals and recovery wards in Worcestershire suspended

Redditch Editorial 15th Sep, 2020   0

VISITING community hospitals and recovery wards in Worcestershire has been suspended for the rest of this week.

It follows a rise of Covid-19 cases in parts of the county, which has also led to care home visiting being stopped.

This has affected community hospitals in Bromsgrove, Malvern, Tenbury, Pershore, Evesham and Wyre Forest Ward as well as county mental health and recovery wards.

Acute Hospitals in Redditch, Worcester and Kidderminster have remained closed to visitors since the start of the outbreak.

Worcester City Inpatient Unit also remains closed to visitors and has done since last Friday, September 11 when the measures were first announced.

There will be exceptions made for those visiting patients who are receiving end of life care.

Relatives with a visiting appointment booked for this week will be offered a virtual visit supported by ward staff.

The situation will be reviewed again next week.
