A REVIEW into the use of infants schools as polling stations is to be launched by Redditch Borough Council.
Council Leader Matt Dormer said it was ‘no brainer’ after the previous Labour administration had rejected appeals by Abbeywood and Roman Way First Schools against their use at election time.
“I do not like using schools as polling stations,” he said.
“If you want to take your child out of school you cannot, or you would get into trouble if you did.
“The costs will be minimal through using mobile cabins or alternative buildings and fingers crossed this should be changed by the next elections.”
