Coffee and cake drive after thief steals Studley in Bloom cash collection

Redditch Editorial 7th Aug, 2018   0

ENJOY a cup of coffee or tea and a cake and help put some money back Studley in Bloom’s way at their next coffee morning this Thursday, August 9.

The Bloomers finances were hit last Saturday, August 4, when a thief ran off with a full collection box from the counter at the Co-op on Alcester Road.

The box, estimated to have contained £50 to £60, had been secured to the counter but that didn’t stop the thief from snatching it and running out.

Jill Liebthal, chair of Studley in Bloom said: “Obviously we don’t know how much was in the box but on average it’s £50 to £60 and we always put how much we’ve collected on the noticeboard in the Co-op.”

Studley in Bloom weren’t the only charity to be targeted. Just before midday on Friday, July 27 a thief grabbed the MIND charity box on the counter at the Pool Road Leisure Centre.

The coffee morning on Thursday runs from 10am to 1pm. All welcome.
