Church installs life-saving equipment

LIFESAVING equipment has been installed at a Headless Cross church thanks to the Inner Wheel.

The organisation raised money for the defibrillator, supplied by the Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation, which was installed at The Bridge – formerly St Luke’s – last Sunday (February 15).

Inner Wheel president Judy Keight said they hoped the machine would help anyone if and when an emergency situation arose, adding she was grateful to Rob and Maggie Underwood from the foundation for their work raising awareness in and around Redditch.

Rob said: “With so many community groups using the facility, it is a great place to have one and we cannot thank them enough for seeing the need.

“We hope it will never be used but if someone is unfortunate to suffer a cardiac arrest in or around the premises the defibrillator will give the best chance of survival along with CPR whilst waiting for the emergency services to arrive.”
