Cheers to the beer after Alestones in Tardebigge wins top CAMRA award

A TARDEBIGGE microbrewery is tasting a drop of success after being named Pub of the Year 2018 in Redditch and Bromsgrove.

Alestones, in Tardebigge Court on Hewell Lane, scooped the accolade from the Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) for its quality beer and welcoming atmosphere.

After opening in September 2016, owner Adrian Stone has ensured a good mix of light and dark beers are always available as well as a good selection of ciders and perries.

The most popular beer, the ‘Triple S Blonde’ – a hoppy blonde ale – is named after three members of the Alestones team who helped brew the initial batch at the Woodcote Manor Brewing Co. in Bromsgrove.

The pub itself was originally set up as a micropub with room for 15 or 20 customers, but has since grown and now regularly hosts bands and comedy nights.

Adrian said: “It is very pleasing to win the award and a huge reflection on the amazing team we have here and the hard work we do.

“Alestones is a lovely place with a relaxing atmosphere and everyone goes away with a smile on their face.”

The brewery is currently raising funds to install a defibrillator on-site.

“We are currently holding a series of charity events, including live music, quizzes and activity nights to raise funds to install the life-saving equipment,” added Adrian.

“It will be a great addition and everyone in the community will be able to use it.”
